Upload a JPEG file or paste path data, which analyzes nodes in the path and simplifies them using algorithms such as Douglas-Peucker. The degree of simplification (tolerance value) can be adjusted. The greater the tolerance, the fewer nodes, but details may be lost. Display the number of nodes, file size and visual contrast before and after simplification in real time.
The path simplification algorithm reduces the amount of data by deleting nodes that are collinear or near collinear. The Douglas-Peucker algorithm iteratively finds the point farthest from the line, and deletes the intermediate node if the distance is less than the tolerance. The tool also optimizes commands (such as merging multiple L's into H or V).
