After uploading a picture, you can set the gradient widths for the top edge, bottom edge, left edge and right edge respectively. The faded area transitions smoothly from completely opaque to completely transparent, producing a soft ablative effect. You can ramp in only one direction, or you can ramp in all directions at the same time to create a spotlight effect.

The implementation principle is to first draw the original image on Canvas, then superimpose a layer of linear gradient or radial gradient globalCompositeOperation mask, and gradually reduce the Alpha value of edge pixels to 0 through destination blending mode. All of this is done locally in the browser.

Suitable for soft transitions of pictures, edge blending of collages, and fading out of web banners. It is also often used for social media avatar creation, allowing the edges of the image to naturally blend into the background color.
